
Foundation for Initiatives in Development and Education for All (IDEA Foundation) is an NGO with initiatives focused on the development of underprivileged children, youth and women. IDEA originated from the findings of a PhD study and it was conceptualized by a team of qualified and experienced social scientists and social workers to deal with the problems in education and developmental issues of marginalized communities, realizing the need for adopting a holistic approach to minimize school dropout. IDEA started its work in a slum in 2002. Currently IDEA has its presence in 25 slums and 20 villages in Pune and Raigad districts in Maharashtra state in India reaching out to 12,000 children, 3,500 youth and 3,500 women.
